What you’ll do…

We are seeking a skilled Engine Repair Technician to support our growing demand in the Power Generation Maintenance and Manufacturing Division. In this role, you’ll rebuild, maintain, and service diesel and natural gas industrial engines used across the country. Key responsibilities include the disassembly, inspection, and reconditioning of engines, as well as diagnostics, preventative maintenance, installation, and testing to ensure optimal engine performance and reliability. This is a field position based out of Houston, TX and reports to the Depot Supervisor.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Performing specialized company operations as needed as workload may vary across multiple areas of scope.
  • Traveling occasionally within Texas, and periodically out of state as required.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting engine mechanical issues with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with mechanical teams on engine and alternator swaps.
  • Safely operating specialized equipment including torque guns, borescopes, forklifts, and small crane lifts.
  • Accurately recording work orders and tracking labor using mobile tools and applications.
  • Adhering to all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Safely operating and maintaining a company vehicle for business purposes.
Requirements

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of engine rebuilding and mechanical systems.
  • Possess strong technical and hands-on experience in industrial engine repair.
  • Bring prior experience working with Volvo, Doosan, or MAN equipment.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

What you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of experience in engine maintenance—preferably within power generation or generator systems.
  • Proficiency in engine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and reconditioning practices.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and service manuals.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successfully pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to ensure compliance with company standards and safe driving practices.

Machines & Equipment

  • Hands-on experience with generator systems and industrial engines.
  • Familiarity with the engine rebuilding process and related diagnostic tools.
  • Skilled in operating power tools, lifting equipment, and diagnostic instruments safely and effectively.

Environment

  • Ability to work in both shop and field environments.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Requires standing, walking, reaching, and bending for sustained periods.
  • Must possess manual dexterity, visual acuity, and hearing sufficient to perform essential job functions safely.
  • Occasional work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver’s license.
