This role entails having a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and a passion for innovation. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

You will not have any direct supervisory responsibilities in this role however, you will be required to work alongside engineers, scientists, and/or technicians with an objective to drive project progression.

Duties and Responsibilities

An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Design and Development: Drive projects to completion from concept to testing and validation with industry best practices or engineering fundamentals.

· CAD Modeling and Drafting: Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for battery manufacturing equipment using CAD software.

· Testing and Validation: Perform testing and validation of all success criteria such as safety validation reporting, functional testing, and overall equipment efficiency benchmarking

· Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project records, including design specifications, testing procedures, and validation reports.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of new equipment with existing mechanical and electrical components with a focus on design for manufacturability (DFM).

· Problem Identification and Resolution: Actively seek out opportunities for continuous improvements to existing manufacturing equipment and drive solutions through completion

· Vendor Coordination: Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with external vendors where needed.

· Technology Development: Explore new technologies related to Dragonfly's patented dry coating process and apply them based on engineering fundamentals.

· Innovative Contributions: Demonstrate creativity and initiative to drive the development of advanced battery manufacturing equipment and supporting components.

· Issue Resolution: Support production and maintenance staff to recover equipment during downtime events.

Required Skills and Abilities

The following skills and abilities are necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.

· Must have a bachelor's in mechanical engineering + 3-5 years’ experience.

· Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

· Eagerness to learn, adaptability, and a proactive mindset.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

The following skills and abilities will allow you to excel in this position.

· 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment.

· Detailed knowledge of machining, casting, printing, or extruding technologies. (e.g., CNC, Lathe, Injection molding)

· Strong knowledge of web handling machines.

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
