Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and technically strong Project Scheduler to join our Capital Projects teams. The Project Scheduler plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and tracking the execution of complex projects within a metals processing and manufacturing environment. This includes capital expansion projects, plant construction, process optimization, and equipment installations. The scheduler ensures that all project activities—from engineering design to commissioning—are properly sequenced and aligned to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
This is a hands-on role best suited to a project scheduler with direct experience in
pre-construction, construction, of complex industrial projects.
This role reports to the Senior Projects Manager. You will work collaboratively across teams, including engineering, corporate development, finance, strategic partnerships, Human Resources and Operations, to ensure successful project scheduling. This is a
full-time, hybrid
(4 days in office, 1 day remote) role based in

Key Responsibilities
Develop and Maintain Schedules:
- Create comprehensive baseline schedules to reflect the full scope of engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction activities.
- Define activity sequences, dependencies, and milestones covering engineering design, equipment.

Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure accurate scope definition and realistic scheduling of activities.

Crash and reforecast schedules on an as needed basis.
Project Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track progress against the schedule and identify variances or risks to critical paths.
- Resource Allocation; assign and balance team workload while considering availability and constraints.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly schedule reports, including S-curves, dashboard report, look-ahead schedules, and milestone tracking.

Perform variance and impact analyses to identify schedule risks and develop recovery plans
Integration with Cost and Resources:
- Work closely with project controls, cost engineers and/or procurement, and finance to ensure schedule alignment with cost and budget forecasts.

Support resource leveling, workload analysis, and manpower planning.
Change Management:
- Evaluate schedule impacts of design changes, scope variations, and unforeseen delays.

Provide time-impact analyses to support change orders and claims.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project engineers, procurement teams, and construction managers to ensure alignment across departments.

Facilitate schedule review meetings and support project leadership with decision-ready insights.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Professional certifications such as PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and managing project schedules for light and heavy industrial, manufacturing, or mining projects.
- Proven expertise in Primavera P6; proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and Power BI is an asset
- Strong understanding of project execution workflows (engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning, and handover).
- Exposure to LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement environments.
- Experience with integrated master schedules and multi-project portfolios.
Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, crashing schedules, and value engineering is an asset
Working Conditions
- Combination of office and site environments (plant, or construction site).
- May involve occasional travel to plant sites.
