Job Description

Deal Desk is an integral part of the business operation team across the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Japan region working closely with the sales and accounts teams to ensure deals close in accordance with IFS standards. The role will form part of the business operations function, reporting to the Regional Head of Business Operations based in Dubai.

The role will be based out of our office in Colombo, Sri Lanka or Kolkata, India.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure compliance of sales deals with the IFS policies, procedures and processes.
  • Manage the approval process during the sales cycle, in the IFS Deal Approval Request (DAR) system. Ensure all DARs are submitted and fully approved before commercials / contracts are issued to the customer.
  • Perform deal validation and review the sales pricing in the tools to ensure proper financing, payment terms, maintenance carves, and discounts are applied in the deal structure.
  • Review and advise the sales team in structuring deals for complex scenarios
  • Support the sales team on revenue recognition and contractual matters linked to sales transactions. Act as a liaison to Finance, legal, Business operations, Rev Rec team and Market Units on those transactions.
  • Support the sales team on the interpretation and analysis of existing customer’s contractual documents.
  • Align with the Global Deal Desk policies and roll out any revisions or updates to the region

Qualifications

To be successful in the role you will likely have:

  • Tertiary education in business administration, finance or other relevant subject
  • Previously worked within Business Operations or Deal Desk within the enterprise software licensing industry
  • Understanding of Software & Maintenance revenue recognition criteria
  • Good knowledge of Enterprise Software products
  • Proven commercial and business acumen
  • Appreciation for cross-cultural, cross-functional, matrix and geographically dispersed ways of working
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure, meet deadlines and able to work independently as needed.
  • A love of teamwork and collaboration with a structured approach to work tasks
