Job Description

The Global Consulting Delivery organization of IFS is on the lookout for a dynamic and open-minded individual to join us as a Lead Software Engineer. You will be part of a global team, which is dedicated to design, develop and support tailor-made solutions to specific business requirements of IFS customers.

The Lead Software Engineer works independently to analyze, develop, implement, and quality assure customized software included in IFS Product Family, services, and/or other solutions. The Lead Software Engineer can handle more complex development and is also expected to mentor and guide less experienced colleagues. In addition, a Lead Software Engineer should be able to deliver technical training and use their industry and implementation experience to advise and guide the global customer project team.

• Design and Develop fit for purpose software based on functional and technical requirements
• Consult IFS Customers as a Technical Expert through direct Customer engagement
• Create configurations on IFS Products based on Customer requirements (Extensibility)
• Ensuring product performance and maintainability by adhering to IFS’ standards, guidelines, processes, and tools
• Perform comprehensive unit testing including code and performance assessments
• Perform code audits, make improvement suggestions on source code
• Deliver consistent quality on assignments, ensuring usability, maintainability, security and performance while ensuring customer satisfaction and solution fit
• Work as part of a project team, good communication and engagement with requirement owners and other stakeholders.
• Provide direction by mentoring and coaching peers
• Provide technical trainings to peers and customers as needed
• Ability to work with distributed global teams

Qualifications

Essentials

• 5+ years experience with a proven track record in working with Enterprise Grade Software.
• An academic background with a Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• Proficiency in C# .Net, SQL programming language skills
• Strong analytical skills and a technical mindset
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
• Fluent in English and local language.
• Experience with Oracle Database technology, software installation/upgrade, and system integrations
• Guiding and influencing customer stakeholders
• Have an analytical work-approach, together with the ability to learn new concepts quickly while displaying initiative and self-motivation

General Competences

• Engineering/architectural practices and principles
• Technical expertise in IFS Technical Architecture will be an added advantage
• Experience in PL/SQL, Java/Java EE, JavaScript, CSS, Dell Boomi, Kubernetes, GIT, JIRA, ServiceNow, DevOps Technologies, REST API, JSON, SOAP will be an added advantage
• Quality Assurance (such as Qualifying, locating and resolving software flaws; Evaluating and suggesting alternative solutions; Defining technical test flows and ensuring appropriate test coverage; Being able to review, understand, learn from and make improvement suggestions on code)
• Ability to estimate and technically review Business Requirements from IFS customers
• Ability to mentor and coach peers
• Ability to deliver trainings to a global audience
