Job Description

The Global Consulting Delivery organization of IFS is on the lookout for a dynamic and open-minded individual to join us as a Principal Software Engineer. You will be part of a global team, which is dedicated to design, develop and support tailor-made solutions to specific business requirements of IFS customers.

The Principal Software Engineer works independently to analyze, develop, implement, and quality assure customized software included in IFS Product Family, services, and/or other solutions. The Principal Software Engineer can handle very complex development and is also expected to mentor and guide less experienced colleagues. In addition, a Principal Software Engineer should be able to deliver technical training and use their industry and implementation experience to advise and guide the global customer project team. A Principal Software Engineer is also expected to be cross skilled in other IFS Roles – such as Technical Solution Manager and System Engineer. The Principal Software Engineer may also work in an overseeing role on projects, lending expertise to the IFS team.

• Advanced software development skills with a commercial mindset and deep functional knowledge, to ensure product maintainability by adhering to IFS’ standards, guidelines, processes, and tools
• Ability perform complex technical investigations and performance tuning work
• Works as a trusted Technical Advisor to Customers and other stakeholders
• Create advanced configurations on IFS Products based on Customer requirements (Extensibility)
• Perform code audits, make improvement suggestions on source code
• Leading IFS teams in designing advanced technical solutions and conducting technical architectural workshops
• Be an expert with integration technologies and standards used in the industry
• Provide direction by mentoring and coaching peers
• Provide technical trainings to peers and customers as needed
• Lead distributed global teams
• Represent IFS in industry technical forums

Qualifications

Essentials

• An academic background with a Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• Experience with Agile development methodologies common integration platforms (REST APIs, Boomi, SOAP Web Services), relational databases, and client-server architecture.
• Experience with developing advanced IFS Configurations, Reports, Integrations and Modifications
• Strong analytical skills and a technical mindset
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
• Fluent in English and local language
• Guiding and influencing customer stakeholders
• Having experience with IFS Applications (IFS Cloud and Apps 10) is an advantage

General Competences

• Engineering/architectural practices and principles
• Experience in Java/Java EE, Boomi, Kubernetes, GIT, JIRA, ServiceNow, DevOps Technologies, JSON will be an added advantage
• Experience with Oracle Database technology, software installation/upgrade, and system integrations will be an added advantage
• Ability to estimate and technically review Business Requirements from IFS customers
