CivilGrid aggregates public and proprietary utility, geotechnical, environmental, and jurisdictional data. The consolidated information is sold via our collaborative SaaS mapping platform to engineers and developers who need it to make early-stage decisions on real estate and infrastructure projects. Real time data access reduces labor and project delays, accelerates decision making and reduces project risk. Collaborative features ensure faster information flow and decisioning inside and outside the organization and better project insight retention over time.
Role summary:
As a small team, we all wear many hats and enjoy tackling new challenges. When it comes to tech, we're seeking experienced individuals who can efficiently identify problems and devise solutions. You will be a foundational team member with the opportunity to work on all aspects of the application and shape the technical future of CivilGrid. Joining at this stage, you will build core systems that will help us scale quickly, and benefit from tremendous upside as we grow.
You will be responsible for:
Working closely with product leadership and design to implement new concepts
Designing and building user facing features with scalable UI components
Profiling and tuning performance across the entire stack to ensure efficient and responsive systems
Is this you?
6 years of experience working with JavaScript or TypeScript, particularly with React and Node.js (or equivalent frameworks)
Experience building for non-traditional surfaces - canvas, maps, 3D visualizer etc.
Familiarity with geospatial frameworks (Mapbox, Leaflet or similar, etc.) is a plus.
Start up ready - you’re autonomous, move fast, and take initiative without being asked
Experience working on a complex B2B Product
Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and offer constructive feedback to help grow the team’s technical capabilities
Strong verbal and written communication, able to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively
Bonus Qualification: A degree in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field (B.S. or M.S.)
