This fast-paced startup company is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our growing team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other accounting standards as required.
- Support the Controller with month-end activities
- Collaborate with accuracy and timeliness of financial information
- Assist with accounting functions of international subsidiary (follows IFRS) and related consolidations.
- Oversee and assist with the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely preparation and review of all required regulatory filings.
- Work with external auditors to assist with annual audit and potentially with quarterly reviews.
- Assist with annual budgeting and prepare accounting reports for executive leadership.
- Review work submitted by accountants and manage monthly accounting close.
- Perform analysis of financial statements and prepare accounting metrics for presentation to leadership as needed.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and improve efficiency of current processes.
- Conduct research on advanced accounting standards.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role
- CPA designation
- Experience working in a CPA firm in an audit or review function
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills
- High level of honesty and integrity
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with NetSuite and QuickBooks online, and knowledge of other ERPs
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Ability to research, understand and implement advanced accounting standards such as ASC606, ASC842, ASC330 and ASC718
- Experience with implementation of ERP or advanced accounting software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in the accounting department of a publicly traded company
- Experience with entity consolidations
- Experience with foreign currency reporting
- Experience with accounting for grants and other governmental support
