About this position
Location: Hybrid within Arlington VA, Alpharetta GA or San Francisco CA
The Director, Global Supplier Quality will be a key partner in championing the global supplier quality activities and positively driving a practical approach to supplier quality. This individual will require the capabilities of delivering both tactical and strategic results in a fast-paced and demanding growth environment. Primary responsibility will include managing supplier quality on existing products and new product introductions, as well as partnering with Strategic Procurement on supplier selection and qualification activities. This supplier quality leader will also be responsible for quality control activities, including source inspection activities, any required containment activities, and regular process audits. This individual will also be responsible for implementing and managing effective KPI's related to supplier quality.
Job Responsibilities
Engage in escalations from the regions, supporting with expertise and leadership as needed.
Team supports supplier qualifications through participation NPI assessments.
Develop supplier audit program to ensure rigorous adherence to Fluence standards. Manage the supplier audit program, follow up and implement corrective & preventive actions.
Provide leadership on quality investigations and customer complaints for resolution of quality issues and eliminating problems from re-occurrence.
Use problem solving methodologies, facilitate deep dive analysis with cross functional teams to resolve product and process quality excursions.
Interfacing with customers for quality audits, continuous improvement efforts and/or resolution of quality excursions.
Drive compliance to Fluence quality specifications through supplier audits.
Foster global partnership and collaboration to share best practices with regions.
Implementing, communicating, and monitoring ongoing quality standards and recommend improvements.
Maintain KPI's and drive collaboration with suppliers to address negative trends.

  • Ten years or more of experience working with suppliers
  • Experience leading team of high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability in developing sustainable programs that create actionable information.
  • Experience as a change agent at multiple organizational levels
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional project management skills, including establishing measurable standards and comparing with actual results
  • Skilled at generating detailed and timely reports and presentations for management review
  • Highly analytical focus and demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and concisely, both written and verbal, to all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to influence others without authority, even those with conflicting priorities balancing thought leadership with strong results-orientation
  • Education: bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Process Management, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.

In Colorado and California, the standard pay range for this role is $125k - 165K annually. This range is specific to Colorado and California and may not be applicable in other locations.
