ABOUT THE POSITION
Location: Arlington, VA - Atlanta, GA - Houston, TX – Salt Lake City, UT
We are looking for an experienced and value-driven professional to join our sustaining production team. As an operations Manager, you will guide Fluence's success by bringing your knowledge and expertise to help us maintain our culture as we grow.
You will be tasked with owning various operational activities for assigned contract manufacturers using our tools, your experience, and a collaborative fun environment.
You will have the ability to make sound judgment calls and contribute to maintaining a culture of high integrity. If you’re skilled with issue resolution, a great collaborator, and an excellent communicator, we’d like to talk to you!
As Operations Manager you will:
•Coordinate with supply chain and global planning teams to determine product demand, pricing strategies, and inventory levels
•Improve processes for ordering, shipping, receiving, storing, and delivering products or materials to meet customer needs
•Develop strategies to reducing operating costs while maintaining high quality standards for products
•Collaborate with contract manufacturers staff, such as production managers or operations managers, to coordinate activities
•Manage all aspects of inventory by working with the contract manufacturers to ensure standard inventory control practices are in place
•Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technological advances or process changes
•Provide regular and ongoing communication to senior management on business development strategies
•Direct key business reporting needs required by teams
•Fosters an environment of open communications across functions to align and develop integrated processes
•Develops and implements appropriate metrics or Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success and impact of business activities
•Oversees and coordinates the analysis and reporting of contract manufacturer forecasting and capacity planning
•Drive continuous improvement culture with structured prioritization aligned with business strategies
•Drive inventory and financial accuracy through active maintenance of work orders
•Focus on ensuring that the customer experience is positive from start to finish. This includes everything from product design to delivery.
•Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly
•Resolve issues that come up (e.g., delays in delivery, accidents)
•Communicate and negotiate with contract manufacturers to land more profitable deals

What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • 5+ years of experience working in an operational or supply chain role with direct reports.
  • Experience with contract manufactures
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
  • Working experience of relevant software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite)
  • Prior experience working with teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Problem solver and result oriented
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions, and exercise judgment with sensitive/confidential issues
  • Strong conflict resolution, relationship and team building skills.
  • High Attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles.
  • Experience tracking, prioritizing and driving multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced, growing company.
  • Driven, proactive and can-do attitude. You’re hands-on and want to get things done.
